Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 1313 — Guarding against urine

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Hasanah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and in his hand was something like a leather shield. He put it down, then sat and urinated towards it. Some of them said: Look at him! He urinates the way women urinate! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard this and said: "Woe to you! Do you not know what happened to the man of the Children of Israel? When urine got on them, they would cut that part (of the garment) off with scissors, but he forbade them from doing so, and so he was punished in his grave."
