Mukhtasar Muslim (Abridged) 907 — Slave’s reward for loyalty

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A righteous slave will have a double reward (one for being loyal to his master and the other for worshipping Allah). By Him in Whose hand is the life of Abu Huraira, if it were not for jihad, Hajj, and good conduct towards my mother, I would have wished to die as a slave. And Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), due to his companionship with and service to his mother, did not perform any (supererogatory) Hajj until she passed away.

The hadith of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding this chapter has already been mentioned at the beginning of the Book of Maintenance (see Hadith number 883).
