Mukhtasar Muslim (Abridged) 1049 — Number of lashes for discretionary

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Burdah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "No one should be beaten with more than ten lashes except in one of the limits prescribed by Allah."
