حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَبَلَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنَا حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ عَمْرٍو، مَوْلَاةُ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتَ سِيرِينَ، تَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أُمَّ عَطِيَّةَ، تَقُولُ: «كُنَّا نَخْرُجُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نُدَاوِي الْجَرْحَى، وَنَدْفِنُ الْقَتْلَى»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: "We used to go out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), treat the wounded and bury the slain."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ خَلَّادٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَبَلَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنَا حَبَّةُ بِنْتُ حَبِيبٍ الْعَدَوِيَّةُ، قَالَتْ: حَدَّثَتْنَا حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَأْمُرُنَا بِحِفْظِ فُرُوجِنَا وَأَلْسِنَتِنَا، وَقَالَ: إِنَّهُمَا يُورِدَانِكُنَّ، وَلَا يُصْدِرَانِكُنَّ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order us to guard our private parts and our tongues, and he would say: "These two will lead you (into calamity) and will not bring you back."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ جَمِيلِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا مَاتَتْ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " اغْسِلْنَهَا وِتْرًا ثَلَاثًا، أَوْ خَمْسًا، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا، أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ، فَإِذَا غَسَلْتُنَّهَا فَأَعْلِمْنَنِي فَأَعْلَمْنَاهُ، قَالَتْ فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ فَقَالَ: أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ "
Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) died, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Wash her an odd number of times, three or five, and in the last washing put camphor, or some camphor; then when you have finished washing her, inform me." So we informed him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) threw his waist-wrapper to us and said: "Wrap it around her body (beneath the shroud)."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ كَرَامَةَ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْحَنَّاطِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، أَنَّ ابْنَةً لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُوُفِّيَتْ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا وِتْرًا، أَوْ خَمْسًا، أَوْ مَا رَأَيْتُنَّ وَاجْعَلْنَهُ وِتْرًا فَغَسَّلْنَاهَا فَدَخَلَ، فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ، فَقَالَ: أَشْعِرْنَهَا تَحْتَ كَفَنِهَا، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي آخِرِهِ كَافُورًا "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a daughter of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came in and said: "Wash her an odd number of times, three or five, or as many times as you see fit, but keep it odd." So we washed her; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came in, threw his waist-wrapper to us and said: "Wrap it (on her body) beneath her shroud, and in the last washing put camphor."
حَدَّثَنَا بانوبةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَيْلِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الضَّالُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُخْتِهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: «نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ وَتَفْضِيضِ الْأَقْدَاحِ، فَكَلَّمَهُ النِّسَاءُ فِي لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ فَأَبَى عَلَيْنَا، وَرَخَّصَ لَنَا فِي تَفْضِيضِ الْأَقْدَاحِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from wearing gold and from plating vessels with silver." Then the women spoke to him (peace and blessings be upon him) about wearing gold, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not permit it to us; however, he permitted plating vessels with silver.
