حَدَّثَنَا الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَشَيْبَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ سَابِطٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when he wanted to eat while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), would perform ablution (wudu) like that for prayer.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ جِهَادٌ، قَالَ: «جِهَادُهُنَّ هَهُنَا» وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ مَكَّةَ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) whether jihad is also obligatory upon women. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Their jihad is here," and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed with his hand towards Makkah.
