حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَهْمِ عَمْرُو بْنُ حَازِمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْخَالِقِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَلْبَسُ ثَوْبًا لِيُبَاهِيَ بِهِ، فَيَنْظُرُ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ، لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَنْزِعَهُ مَتَى مَا نَزَعَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears a garment out of pride so that people look at him, Allah Almighty does not look at him until he takes it off, whenever he takes it off."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْجَهْمِ عَمْرُو بْنُ حَازِمٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْخَالِقِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْعِلْمَ لِيُبَاهِيَ بِهِ الْعُلَمَاءَ، وَيُمَارِيَ بِهِ السُّفَهَاءَ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever learns knowledge in order to boast with it before the scholars or to argue with the foolish by it, he is in Hell."
