حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ومُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَا: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاتَ لِي وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Two of my children have died while I was in Islam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has two children die while he is in Islam, Allah will admit him into Paradise by the bounty of His mercy towards those two."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَاتَ لِي وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ، فَقَالَ: «مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ وَلَدَانِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ إِيَّاهُمَا» فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَقِيَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ: أَنْتَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْوَلَدَيْنِ قَالَ: نَعَمْ فَقَالَ: لَئِنْ يَكُونَ قَالَهُ لِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا غُلِّقَتْ عَلَيْهِ حِمْصُ وَفِلَسْطِينُ
Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Two of my children have died while I was in Islam. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has two children die while he is in Islam, Allah will admit him into Paradise by the bounty of His mercy towards those two." Later, when he met Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: Are you the one to whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said this about the two children? He said: Yes. So Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Had he (peace and blessings be upon him) said it to me, it would have been dearer to me than everything that Hims and Palestine have locked (their gates) upon.
