It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a zakah collector, and he would take zakah from the rich and give it to the poor. The narrator Ibn Abi Za'idah added in his narration: "And I was an orphan boy, so he gave me a young she-camel from it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a zakah collector to us, and he took the zakah from our rich and distributed it among our poor; and I was an orphan boy who had no wealth, so he gave me a young she-camel from it.

Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when I was a boy. We were encamped at Mina when someone said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has set off. So I got up to my mount, fastened the saddle on it and set off towards him (peace and blessings be upon him), until we reached al-Batha'. There was a small group of people there, and a tent had been pitched. Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came out to us, carrying water for ablution and a short spear; then he gave the call to prayer. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and performed ablution, and some water was left over, and the people began taking some of it and wiping their faces and heads with it. When I saw this, I did the same as they did. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer with the spear in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him), while people were passing in front and behind.
