حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، قَالَ , ثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، قَالَا , ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْد الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ قَبِيصَةَ، - وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِحُجْزَةِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ - وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «لَا تُسْبِلْ إِزَارَكَ , فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلِينَ»
Husayn bin Qabisah (may Allah have mercy on him) (and once the narrator said: Qabisah bin Jabir (may Allah have mercy on him)) narrates that Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) holding the waist-wrapper of Sufyan bin Sahl - who is also called Ibn Abi Sahl - and saying: "Do not let your waist-wrapper hang down (below the ankles), for Allah Almighty does not love those who let their garments hang down."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخِذَاً بِرِدَاءِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «يَا سُفْيَانُ , لَا تُسْبِلْ , فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلِينَ» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , عَنْ شَرِيكٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ , عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ , وَقَالَ: سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ
Husayn bin Uqbah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) holding the upper wrap of Sufyan bin Sahl and saying: "O Sufyan! Do not let your waist-wrapper hang down, for Allah does not love those who let their garments hang down."
Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Yazid bin Harun narrated it like this from Sharik, from Abd al-Malik bin Umayr, from Husayn bin Uqbah, and he gave (the Companion's name as) Sufyan bin Sahl.
