حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا: ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنِي وَرَّادٌ، كَاتَبُ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ، كَتَبَ إِلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ: أَنِ اكْتُبْ إِلَيَّ بِشَيْءٍ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ: كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى فَفَرَغَ قَالَ: " لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ - قَالَ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ: فَأَظُنُّهُ قَالَ: - لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ "
Warrad, the scribe of Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), relates that Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him): Write to me something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he wrote to him: When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed and finished, he would say: "There is no true god except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner - Ibn Awn said: I think he also said next: - His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things. O Allah, none can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold, and the greatness of one who has greatness avails him nothing against You."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، وَابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنِ الْوَرَّادِ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ
Something similar is also narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him).
