حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو خَلِيفَةَ قَالَا: ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: كُنَّا فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، فَقَالَ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ وَلِيَ لَنَا عَمَلًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ زَوْجَةٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ زَوْجَةً، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ خَادِمٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ لَهُ خَادِمًا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَسْكَنٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ لَهُ مَسْكَنًا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ دَابَّةٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ دَابَّةً» قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: أَكْثَرْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ أَصَابَ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ غَالٌّ»
Abdur-Rahman bin Jubayr said: We were in a gathering in which Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) and Amr bin Ghaylan bin Salamah were present. Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever takes charge of some work for us and has no wife, let him take a wife; whoever has no servant, let him take a servant; whoever has no dwelling, let him get a dwelling; and whoever has no mount, let him take a mount." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, you have granted a great deal." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever obtains anything besides that is a misappropriator."
حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، ثنا ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِيهِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، فَسَمِعْتُ الْمُسْتَوْرِدَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ وَلِيَ لَنَا عَمَلًا فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ زَوْجَةٌ فَلْيَتَزَوَّجْ، أَوْ خَادِمٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ خَادِمًا، أَوْ مَسْكَنٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ مَسْكَنًا، أَوْ دَابَّةٌ فَلْيَتَّخِذْ دَابَّةً، فَمَنْ أَصَابَ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ غَالٌّ أَوْ سَارِقٌ»
Abdur-Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr said: I was in a gathering in which Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid bin Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him) and Amr bin Ghaylan were present, and I heard Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever takes charge of some work for us and has no wife, let him marry; or has no servant, let him take a servant; or has no dwelling, let him get a dwelling; or has no mount, let him take a mount. Whoever obtains anything besides that is a misappropriator or a thief."
حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْمُسْتَوْرِدِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ كَانَ لَنَا عَامِلًا فَلْيَكْتَسِبْ زَوْجَةً، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ خَادِمٌ فَلْيَكْتَسِبْ خَادِمًا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَسْكَنٌ فَلْيَكْتَسِبْ مَسْكَنًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid bin Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever becomes an official for us, let him acquire a wife; if he has no servant, let him acquire a servant; and whoever has no dwelling, let him acquire a dwelling."
