حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُرَشِيِّ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «اسْتَعِيذُوا بِاللهِ مَنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ إِلَى غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ إِلَى حَيْثُ لَا طَمَعَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek refuge in Allah from greed that leads to rust and blemish (upon the heart), from greed for what cannot be attained, and from greed that leads where there is nothing to hope for."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا عَمَّارُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ أَبُو كَعْبٍ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْأَحْوَصِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَمَ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْحَضْرَمِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ عَافِيَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، ثنا جَدِّي عَافِيَةُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى؟ قَالَ: «أَنْ تَمُوتَ وَلِسَانُكَ رَطْبٌ مِنْ ذِكْرِ اللهِ»
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Which deed is most beloved to Allah Almighty? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That you die while your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّحْوِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَبُو خَالِدٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ يَتَحَسَّرُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا عَلَى سَاعَةٍ مَرَّتْ بِهِمْ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اللهَ فِيهَا»
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people of Paradise will feel regret only over an hour that passed them by in which they did not remember Allah."
