حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ دِرْهَمٍ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يَبْنُونَ مَسْجِدًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوْسِعُوا مَسْجِدَكُمْ تَمْلَأُوهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a group of the Ansar who were building a mosque, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make your mosque spacious; you will fill it (with worshippers)."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا طَلَّقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دِرْهَمٍ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُحَصِّبُونُ مَسْجِدًا، فَقَالَ: «أَوْسِعُوا تَمْلَأُوهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to a group of the Ansar who were spreading pebbles in a mosque, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make it spacious; you will fill it."
