حَدَّثَنَا وَرْدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ النَّصْرِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْمُتَوَكِّلَ بْنَ اللَّيْثِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، وَسَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْبَسُوا الْبَيَاضَ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn and Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wear white clothes, and shroud your dead in them."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ: «أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ أَعْبُدٍ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ، فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man freed six of his slaves at the time of his death, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him an order, so he freed two and kept four in slavery.
