حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ الْجُرْجُسِيُّ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ دُرَيْكٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ: بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَخْرُجُ مَعَكَ عَلَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِي سَهْمًا فِي الْمَغْنَمِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَاللهِ لَا أَدْرِي أَتَغْنَمُونَ أَمْ لَا تَغْنَمُونَ، وَلَكِنِ اجْعَلْ لِي شَيْئًا مَعْلُومًا، فَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةَ دَنَانِيرَ فَغَزَوْنَا فَأَصَبْنَا مَغْنَمًا، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَجِدُ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا دَنَانِيرَهُ هَذِهِ الثَّلَاثَةَ الَّذِي أَخَذَ»
Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Munabbih (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me with a military detachment. A man said: I will go out with you on condition that you give me a share of the spoils. Then he said: By Allah, I do not know whether you will gain spoils or not, so fix something definite for me instead. So I fixed three dinars for him. Then we fought and gained spoils, and I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I find nothing for him in this world or the Hereafter except these three dinars of his that he took."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، ثنا الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ الْمُوَدِّعِيِّ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
