حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْإِيادِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَزْهَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَرَّارِيِّ، عَنْ عِصْمَةََ بْنِ قَيْسٍ السُّلَمِيِّ، صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَشْرِقِ قِيلَ لَهُ: فَكَيْفَ فِتْنَةُ الْمَغْرِبِ؟ قَالَ: «تِلْكَ أَعْظَمُ وَأَعْظَمُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ismah bin Qays al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge with Allah from the trial (fitnah) of the East. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: "What about the trial of the West?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is greater, and far greater."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ حَرِيزِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ أَزْهَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عِصْمَةََ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَغْرِبِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ismah bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he used to seek refuge in his prayer from the trial (fitnah) of the West.
