حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ، ثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ تَسِيرُ الظَّعِينَةُ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْحِيرَةِ لَا يَأْخُذُ أَحَدٌ بِخِطَامِ رَاحِلَتِهَا، وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يَمْشِي الرَّجُلُ بِمِلْءِ كَفِّهِ ذَهَبًا يَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ لَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will surely come upon people when a woman will travel (alone) from Makkah to al-Hirah, and no one will even take hold of the nose-rein of her mount. And a time will surely come upon people when a man will walk about with a handful of gold, wanting to give it in charity, but it will not be accepted from him."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ، أَنَّ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ، حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ إلَّا قَلِيلٌ حَتَّى تَسِيرَ الظَّعِينَةُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْحِيرَةِ لَا يَأْخُذُ أَحَدٌ بِخِطَامِهَا، وَلَا يَأْتِي عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ إلَّا قَلِيلٌ حَتَّى يَمْشِيَ الرَّجُلُ بِمِلْءِ كَفِّهِ ذَهَبًا فَلَا يَجِدُ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهُ، وَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا سَيُعْرَضُ عَلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَيْسَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ تَرْجُمَانٌ، فَمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يَتَّقِيَ النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ»
Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) told them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Very soon a time will come upon you when a woman will travel (alone) between Makkah and al-Hirah, and no one will even take hold of her nose-rein. And very soon a time will come upon one of you when a man will walk about with a handful of gold and will find no one to accept it. And every one of you will be presented before Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, with no interpreter between him and Him. So whoever is able to protect himself from the Fire, even if only with a piece of a date, let him do so."
