It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who fights in jihad will have his reward, and the one who equips him will have his reward and also a reward equal to that of the one who fights."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us, and in his hand (peace and blessings be upon him) were two books. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you know what these two books are?" We said: No, unless you tell us, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is a book from the Lord of the worlds, in which are recorded the names of the people of Paradise, the names of their fathers and the names of their tribes; then it has been sealed at the last of them, so nothing will be added to them nor ever taken away. And this is the book of the people of Hell, with their names, the names of their fathers and the names of their tribes; then it too has been sealed at the last of them, so nothing will be added to them nor taken away." So the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then why should we do deeds, when this matter has already been settled? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, keep to the right course and be moderate, for the one destined for Paradise will have his end sealed with the deed of the people of Paradise, whatever deeds he may have done before; and the one destined for Hell will have his end sealed with the deed of the people of Hell, whatever deeds he may have done before. Your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, has finished deciding the matter of His servants." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with both his hands, spreading them out, and said: "Your Lord has finished deciding the matter of creation: a party in Paradise and a party in the Blazing Fire."
