حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي، ثنا سَلَّامٌ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ مِنَ الشِّعْرِ حِكَمًا، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْبَيَانِ سِحْرًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, some poetry contains wisdom, and some eloquent speech has the effect of magic."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى، ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازُ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ» : {تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِنَّ} [الشورى: ٥]
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "We used to recite this verse thus: (The heavens almost break apart from above them)" [Surah al-Shura: 5].
