حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَوْضِيُّ، ثنا مُرَجَّى بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " سَيِّدُ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ أَنْ تَقُولَ: اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي , لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَعَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، وَأَبُوءُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، إِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، فَإِنْ قَالَ بَعْدَمَا يُمْسِي، فَمَاتَ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَإِنْ قَالَهَا بَعْدَ مَا يُصْبِحُ، فَمَاتَ مِنْ يَوْمِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best way of seeking forgiveness is that you say: 'O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship except You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as far as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessing upon me, and I also acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for indeed none forgives sins except You.' If someone says it in the evening and dies that night, he will enter Paradise, and if he says it in the morning and dies that day, he will enter Paradise."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِ .
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him).
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , مِثْلَهُ
A hadith like it is also narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him).
