Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me the surahs "Idha zulzilat", "Qul ya ayyuha al-kafirun" and "Qul huwa Allahu ahad", and he taught me these words: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), wal-hamdu lillah (and praise be to Allah), wa la ilaha illa Allah (and there is no god but Allah), wa Allahu akbar (and Allah is the Greatest); and he said: "These are al-baqiyat al-salihat (the enduring good deeds)."

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among the very first of the people of Ta'if to come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I set out from my family in al-Surah early in the morning and reached Mina at the time of Asr. Then I climbed the mountain and came down, then I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and accepted Islam. He (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me "Qul huwa Allahu ahad" and "Idha zulzilat al-ardu zilzalaha", and he taught me these words: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), wal-hamdu lillah (and praise be to Allah), wa la ilaha illa Allah (and there is no god but Allah), wa Allahu akbar (and Allah is the Greatest); and he said: "These are al-baqiyat al-salihat (the enduring good deeds)."

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at Hunayn, and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever gets up at night, performs ablution (wudu) and rinses his mouth, then says Subhan Allah a hundred times, al-hamdu lillah a hundred times, la ilaha illa Allah a hundred times and Allahu akbar a hundred times, his sins are forgiven, except for (the rights of) blood and wealth, for these are not annulled."
Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished with Hunayn, we stopped in a barren stretch of land in which there was nothing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Gather together; whoever finds a piece of wood, let him bring it, and whoever finds a bone or anything else, let him bring it." The narrator said: Only an hour had passed before we had made a heap of it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you see this? In the same way sins pile up upon a man among you, just as you have gathered this. So let a man fear Allah and not commit any sin, small or great, for they are all counted against him."
Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has married me in Paradise to Maryam bint Imran, the wife of Pharaoh, and the sister of Musa."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The martyrs of the sea are more excellent in the sight of Allah than the martyrs of the land."
Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Junadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever separates from the Jama'ah (the community) will fall on his face into Hell, because Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: 'Is He (not best) who responds to the distressed one when he calls upon Him, and removes the evil, and makes you successors on the earth?' [Al-Naml: 62]. So the caliphate is from Allah. If he (the ruler) is good, its good is for him, and if he is bad, he alone will be held to account for it. It is incumbent upon you to obey in what Allah Almighty has commanded you."
