حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ «نَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَارَعَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade muzara'ah (sharecropping).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي نُعْمٍ، ثنا رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ، أَنَّهُ زَرَعَ أَرْضًا فَمَرَّ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَسْقِيهَا فَقَالَ: «لِمَنِ الزَّرْعُ وَلِمَنِ الْأَرْضُ؟» ، فَقَالَ: زَرْعِي بِيَدِي وَعَمَلِي مِنَ الشَّطْرِ وَلِبَنِي فُلَانٍ الشَّطْرُ، فَقَالَ: «أَرْبَيْتَ فَرُدَّ الْأَرْضَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا وَخُذْ نَفَقَتَكَ»
Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) cultivated a piece of land, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him while he was watering it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whose is the crop, and whose is the land?" He said: The crop is mine, by my own hands and labour; half the share is mine and half belongs to so-and-so's people. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have engaged in usury (riba). Return the land to its owners and take your expenses."
