It is narrated from Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning wiping over leather socks: "For the traveller, three days and three nights; and for the resident, one day and one night."

Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What Ahmad bin Hanbal meant was that the narration of Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Abu Abdullah al-Jadali, is a mistake, and the correct narration of Mansur is the one through Amr bin Maymun.
