حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَارِثَةَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ كُلُّ ضَعِيفٍ مُتَضَعِّفٍ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ النَّارِ؟ كُلُّ عُتُلٍّ جَوَّاظٍ مُتَكَبِّرٍ»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise? Every weak person whom people regard as weak; if he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfil it. Shall I not tell you about the people of Hell? Every harsh, gross and arrogant person."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ شَاذَانُ، ثنا أَبِي ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْجَارُودِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ شَاذَانُ، ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قَالُوا: بَلَى. قَالَ: «رَجُلٌ ضَعِيفٌ مُتَضَعِّفٌ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ، أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ النَّارِ؟» قَالُوا: بَلَى. قَالَ: «كُلُّ عُتُلٍّ جَوَّاظٍ مُتَكَبِّرٍ»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the people of Paradise?" The Companions said: Of course. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A weak person whom people regard as weak; if he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfil it. Shall I not inform you of the people of Hell?" The Companions said: Of course. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every harsh, gross and arrogant person."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَذُوعيُّ الْقَاضِي، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ كُلُّ ضَعِيفٍ مُتَضَعِّفٍ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ كُلُّ عُتُلٍّ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ جَوَّاظٍ»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise? Every weak person whom people regard as weak; if he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfil it. And the people of Hell are every harsh, arrogant and gross person."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ جَدِّي بِخَطِّهِ: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي مِسْعَرٌ، ثنا مَعْبَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ وَالْمُسْتَوْرِدِ الْفِهْرِيِّ، قَالَا: قَالَ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟ كُلُّ ضَعِيفٍ مُتَضَعِّفٍ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِأَهْلِ النَّارِ؟ كُلُّ عُتُلٍّ جَوَّاظٍ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb and Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the people of Paradise? Every weak person whom people regard as weak; if he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfil it. Shall I not inform you of the people of Hell? Every harsh, gross and arrogant person."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا آدَمُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسِ بْنِ كَامِلٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَعْبَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ حَارِثَةَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " تَصَدَّقُوا، فَسَيَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ يَمْشِي الرَّجُلُ بِصَدَقَتِهِ، فَيَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ: لَوْ جِئْتَ بِهَا بِالْأَمْسِ لَقَبِلْتُهَا، فَأَمَّا الْيَوْمَ فَلَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا "
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Give charity, for soon a time will come upon you when a man will go about with his charity, and the one to whom he wishes to give it will say: Had you brought it yesterday, I would have accepted it, but today I have no need of it."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَصَدَّقُوا، فَسَيَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ يَمْشِي الرَّجُلُ بِصَدَقَتِهِ لَا يَجِدُ مَنْ يَقْبَلُهَا»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give charity, for soon a time will come upon you when a man will go about with his charity but will find no one to accept it."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ، قَالَ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ جَدِّي بِخَطِّهِ: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ وَالْمُسْتَوْرِدِ، قَالَا: قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَصَدَّقُوا، فَإِنَّهُ سَيَأْتِي يَوْمٌ لَا يُقْبَلُ فِيهِ الصَّدَقَةُ»
Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb and Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Give charity, for soon a day will come on which charity will not be accepted."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَزُوعِيُّ، قَالَا: أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، وَزَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " حَوْضِي مَا بَيْنَ الْمَدِينَةِ وَصَنْعَاءَ - فَقَالَ لَهُ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ: أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْهُ؟ قَالَ: الْأَوَانِي، فَقَالَ الْمُسْتَوْرِدُ - فِيهِ الْآنِيَةُ مِثْلُ الْكَوَاكِبِ ". وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ زَكَرِيَّا السَّاجِيِّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harithah bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "My Pond is as wide as the distance between Madinah and San'a'." At this, Sayyiduna al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Did you not hear him mention the vessels? Then al-Mustawrid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: In it there will be vessels like the stars. (These are the words of the narration of Zakariyya al-Saji.)
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الصَّلْتِ بْنِ بَهْرَامَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَزَالُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى مِسْكَةٍ مِنْ دِينِهَا مَا لَمْ يَكِلُوا الْجَنَائِزَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا»
Sayyiduna al-Harith bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah will continue to hold on to a firm grip of its religion as long as they do not leave the responsibility of funerals to the families (of the deceased)."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا وَضَّاحُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا مِنْدَلُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ الصَّلْتِ بْنِ بَهْرَامَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَنْ تَزَالَ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ مَا لَمْ يُؤَخِّرُوا الْمَغْرِبَ حَتَّى يَشْتَبِكَ النُّجُومُ مُضَاهَاةَ الْيَهُودِ، وَمَا لَمْ يُعَجِّلُوا الْفَجْرَ مُضَاهَاةَ النَّصَارَى، وَمَا لَمْ يَكِلُوا الْجَنَائِزَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا»
Sayyiduna al-Harith bin Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "My Ummah will remain upon Islam as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars become intertwined, in imitation of the Jews, and as long as they do not hasten the Fajr prayer, in imitation of the Christians, and as long as they do not leave the responsibility of funerals to the deceased's family."
