حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْجَفْشِيشِ الْكِنْدِيِّ، قَالَ: جَاءَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ كِنْدَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالُوا: أَنْتَ مِنَّا، فَادَّعَوْهُ، فَقَالَ: «لَا نَقْفُوا أُمَّنَا وَلَا نَنْتَفِي مِنْ أَبِينَا نَحْنُ وَلَدُ النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ»
Sayyiduna al-Jafshish al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some people from Kindah came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "You are one of us," and they laid claim to him. He said: "We do not slander our mother, nor do we disown our father. We are the descendants of al-Nadr bin Kinanah."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا حَيَّانُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ثنا الْجَفْشِيشُ الْكِنْدِيُّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْتَ مِمَّنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَحْنُ بَنُو النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ لَا نَقْفُو أُمَّنَا وَلَا نَنْتَفِي مِنْ أَبِينَا»
Sayyiduna al-Jafshish al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah, which tribe are you from?" He said: "We are Banu al-Nadr bin Kinanah; we do not slander our mother, nor do we disown our father."
