حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمٍ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ خَلْفِي كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟» قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟ قَالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْمُقَدَّمَةَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ»
Tamim al-Ta'i narrates that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you not form rows behind me the way the angels form rows before their Lord?" The people said: How do the angels form rows before their Lord? He said: "They complete the front rows and stand close together in the row."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟» فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟ قَالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْمُقَدَّمَةَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ»
Tamim bin Tarafah narrates that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and said: "Will you not form rows the way the angels form rows before their Lord?" The people said: O Messenger of Allah, how do the angels form rows before their Lord? He said: "They complete the front rows and stand close together in the row."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟» قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمِ؟ قَالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْمُقَدَّمَةَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ»

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الَّذِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟» قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ الَّذِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟ قَالَ: «يُقِيمُونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْأُولَى ويَتَرَصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ»
Tamim bin Tarafah narrates that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you not form rows the way the angels who are with their Lord form rows?" The people said: How do the angels who are with their Lord form rows? He said: "They keep the front rows straight and stand close together in the row."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ السُّلَمِيُّ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَصُفُّونَ كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟» قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَكَيْفَ تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ؟ قَالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصَّفَّ الْمُقَدَّمَ وَيَتَرَاصُّونَ فِي الصَّفِّ»

The people said: O Messenger of Allah, how do the angels form rows in the presence of their Lord? He said: "They complete the front row and stand close together in the row."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ
Tamim bin Tarafah narrates from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a similar hadith.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ سَوَّارٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْنَا أَنِ اجْلِسُوا فَجَلَسْنَا، فَقَالَ: «مَا يَمْنَعُكُمْ أَنْ تَصُفُّوا كَمَا تَصُفُّ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ؟» قَالُوا: وَكَيْفَ يَصُفُّونَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «يُتِمُّونَ الصُّفُوفَ الْأُولَى ويَرْصُفُونَ فِي الصُّفُوفِ رَصْفًا أَوْ يَرُصُّوها رَصًّا»
Ali bin Mudrik narrates from Tamim bin Tarafah, who narrates from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: We prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he signalled to us to sit down, so we sat. Then he said: "What prevents you from forming rows the way the angels form rows in the presence of the Most Merciful?" The people said: O Messenger of Allah, how do they form rows? He said: "They complete the front rows and stand close together in the rows, standing firmly close together."
