ثوبان مولى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " من غرائب مسند ثوبان رضي الله عنه يكنى أبا عبد الله ويقال: هو من اليمن، من حمير مولى آل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ويقال أصابه سبي فاشتراه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فأعتقه كان يسكن حمص، مات سنة أربع
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), client of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (among the rare reports of the Musnad of Thawban); his kunyah was Abu Abdullah; it is said he was from Himyar in Yemen, a client of the family of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is said he was taken captive and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bought him and freed him; he lived in Hims and died in the year 54

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبَنَا شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضًا، لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي خُرْفَةِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever visits a sick person remains in the khurfah of Paradise until he returns."
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الشِّيرَازِيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ، ثنا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ» ،
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who cups and the one who is cupped have both broken their fast."
وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ قَالَ: جَاءَتْ بِنْتُ هُبَيْرَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَفِي يَدِهَا فَتَخٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The daughter of Hubayrah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and on her hand were large gold rings. Then the narrator narrated the full hadith.
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا رَيْحَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا نَزَعَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ عَادَتْ مَكَانَهَا أُخْرَى»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when a man plucks (a fruit) from Paradise, another (fruit) appears in its place."
حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنْ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الشَّامِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ثَوْبَانَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا أَصَابَتْ أَحَدَكُمْ، فَإِنَّ الْحُمَّى قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَلْيُطْفِئْهَا عَنْهُ بِالْمَاءِ الْبَارِدِ جَارِيًا، مُسْتَقْبِلَ جَرْيَةَ الْمَاءِ، وَلْيَقُلِ اللهُمَّ صَدِّقْ رَسُولَكَ، وَاشْفِ عَبْدَكَ، بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ، ولْيَغْمِسْ فِيهِ ثَلَاثَ غَمَسَاتٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي خَمْسٍ، فَفِي سَبْعٍ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَبْرَأْ فِي سَبْعٍ، فَفِي تِسْعٍ، فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَكَادُ أَنْ تُجَاوِزَ التِّسْعَ بِإِذْنِ اللهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When fever afflicts one of you, then indeed fever is a piece of the fire of Hell, so let him extinguish it with cold running water, facing the direction of the water's flow, and let him say: 'Allahumma saddiq rasulaka wa-shfi abdaka' (O Allah, prove Your Messenger truthful and heal Your servant), after Fajr and before sunrise, and let him immerse himself in it three times. If he is not cured in five days, then in seven; and if he is not cured in seven, then in nine, for by the permission of Allah it hardly ever goes beyond nine."
حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الذِّمَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ، ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ بِسِتٍّ مِنْ شَوَّالٍ، فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ صِيَامُ سَنَةٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, that is (equal to) fasting the whole year."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ مَرْزُوقٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الشَّامِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُوشِكُ أَنْ تَتَدَاعى عَلَيْكُمُ الْأُمَمُ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon the nations will gather against you." Then the narrator narrated the full hadith.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيُّ، ح وثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الرَّقِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْمُقْعَدُ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ، ثنا حُمَيْدٌ الشَّامِيُّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُنَبِّهِيِّ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، إِذَا سَافَرَ فآخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِإِنْسَانٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ فَاطِمَةُ، فَإِذَا رَجَعَ فَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا، قَالَ: فَقَدِمَ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ لَهُ، أَوْ سَفَرٍ، فَإِذَا فَاطِمَةُ قَدْ عَلَّقَتْ مَسْحًا عَلَى بَابِهَا، وَحَلَّتِ الْحَسَنُ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ قَلْبَيْنِ، مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَرَجَعَ، فَظَنَّتْ إِنَّمَا رَجَعَ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَا رَأَى فَنَزَعَتِ السِّتْرَ، وَنَزَعَتِ الْقَلْبَيْنِ، عَنِ الصَّبِيَّيْنِ، فَقَطَعَتْهُ، فَدَفَعَتْهُ إِلَيْهِمَا، فَأَتَيَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُمَا يَبْكِيَانِ، فَقَالَ: «يَا ثَوْبَانُ خُذْ هَذَيْنِ، فَاذْهَبْ بِهِمَا إِلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ» ، فَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: «مُحْتَاجِينَ، فَإِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ أَهْلُ بَيْتِي، وَإِنِّي أَكْرَهُ، أَنْ يأْكُلُوا طَيِّبَاتِهِمْ فِي حَيَاتِهِمُ الدُّنْيَا» ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا ثَوْبَانُ، اشْتَرِ لِفَاطِمَةَ قِلَادَةً مِنْ عَصَبٍ، وَسِوَارَيْنِ مِنْ عَاجٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a journey, the last of his family whom he would see was Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and when he returned, the first he would go to was her. The narrator said: Once he (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from a military expedition or a journey and saw that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) had hung a curtain on her door and had put two silver bracelets on Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both). He (peace and blessings be upon him) turned back, and she thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had turned back because of what he had seen. So she took down the curtain and removed the bracelets from the two boys, cut them, and gave them to the two of them. They came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) crying, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Thawban, take these two and take them to a household in Madinah." I think he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A needy (household), for these are my family, and I dislike that they should consume their good things in their worldly life." Then he said: "O Thawban, buy for Fatimah a necklace of 'asb and two bracelets of ivory."
