حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قِيرَاطٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ يَحْيَى اللَّخْمِيُّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فانْفَلَقَ الْقَمَرُ، فَصَارَتْ فِلْقَةٌ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْجَبَلِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اشْهَدُوا اشْهَدُوا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the moon split, and one piece of it went behind the mountain. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bear witness, bear witness."
