حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ، بَعَثَ مَعَهُ بِهَدْيٍ، فَقَالَ: «كُلْ أَنْتَ وَأَصْحَابُكَ ثُلُثًا، وَتَصَدَّقَ بِثُلُثِهِ، وَابْعَثْ إِلَى آلِ أَخِي عُتْبَةَ بِثُلُثٍ» قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ: تَطَوُّعٌ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ»
Alqamah narrated that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a sacrificial animal with him and said: "You and your companions eat one third, give one third in charity, and send one third to the family of my brother Utbah." Sufyan was asked: "Was it a voluntary sacrifice?" He said: "Yes."
