حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَزْنِي بِالْمَرْأَةِ ثُمَّ يَنْكِحُهَا؟ فَقَالَ: سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ: " {وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ، وَيَعْفُو عَنِ السَّيِّئَاتِ} [الشورى: ٢٥] الْآيَةُ "
Al-Hakam bin Aban said: I asked Salim bin Abdullah about a man who commits adultery with a woman and then marries her. He said: Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked this question, and he said: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons evil deeds" [Surah al-Shura: 25].
