حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الطُّفَيْلِ النَّخَعِيُّ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «لَمْ يُوَقَّتْ لَنَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ قِرَاءَةٌ، وَلَا قَوْلٌ، كَبِّرْ مَا كَبَّرَ الْإِمَامُ، وَأَكْثِرْ مِنْ طَيِّبِ الْقَوْلِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "No recitation and no specific words have been fixed for us in the funeral prayer. Say the takbir as many times as the imam says it, and say good words as much as you can."
