Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9248 — Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud said

Zirr bin Hubaysh narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The sun rises between the two horns of Satan, and it does not rise even the height of a spear but that one of the gates of Hell is opened for it, and when it is midday, the gates of Hell are opened for it." The narrator said: So Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to forbid us from praying at these two times: when the sun is rising until it has risen high, and at midday.
