قَالَ الثَّوْرِيُّ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّهُ: «كَانَ يَقُومُ عَلَى الْبُرْدِيِّ، وَيَسْجُدُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ» فَقُلْنَا: مَا الْبُرْدِيُّ؟ قَالَ: «الْحَصِيرُ»
Sufyan (al-Thawri) said: Muhammad informed me from Ibrahim (al-Nakha'i) that he used to stand on burdi (a mat) and prostrate on the ground. We asked: What is burdi? He said: "A mat."
