حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ: «أَتَيْنَا بِجَفْنَةٍ، وَنَحْنُ مَعَ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَوُضِعَتْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا فَأَكَلْنَا، وَجَعَلَ يَدْعُو مَنْ مَرَّ بِهِ، ثُمَّ مَضَيْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ، فَمَا زَادَ عَلَى أَنْ غَسَلَ أَطْرَافَ أَصَابِعِهِ، وَمَضْمَضَ فَاهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى»
Alqamah narrates: We came with a large bowl while we were with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). He gave an order and it was placed by the road; then he ate from it and we ate too, and he kept inviting whoever passed by. Then we went to the prayer, and he did no more than wash the tips of his fingers and rinse his mouth, then he prayed.
