Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9200 — Satan circles around a man in the prayer

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ السَّكَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَيُطِيفُ بِالرَّجُلِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لِيَقْطَعَ عَلَيْهِ صَلَاتَهُ، فَإِذَا أَعْيَا نَفَخَ فِي دُبُرِهِ لِيُرِيَهُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحْدَثَ، فَإِذَا وَجَدَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَلَا يَنْصَرِفَنَّ حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Satan circles around a man in the prayer in order to break his prayer for him. When he grows weary, he blows into his rear so that it seems to him that his ablution has been broken. When he senses something of that, let him not turn away until he hears a sound or perceives a smell."
