Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9189 — Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud said

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنِي رَبَاحُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «فِي الْمَيْتَةِ دِبَاغُهَا ذَكَاتُهَا»
Rabah bin al-Harith narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "For (the skin of) a carcass, its tanning is its slaughter (i.e. what purifies it)."
