Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 9127 — The millstone of Islam will turn

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الضَّبِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءَ، أَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْعَيْزَارِ بْنِ حُرَيْثٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «تَدُورُ رَحَى الْإِسْلَامِ عَلَى رَأْسِ خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ، ثُمَّ يَحْدُثُ حَدَثٌ عَظِيمٌ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ هَلَكَتُهُمْ فَبِالْحَرِيِّ، وَإِلَّا تَرَاخَى عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ رَأَى مَا يُنْكِرُهُ» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ مَوْقُوفًا، وَرَفَعَهُ مَسْرُوقٌ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَالْبَرَاءُ بْنُ نَاجِيَةَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The millstone of Islam will turn at the head of the thirty-fifth year, then a tremendous event will occur. If their destruction lies in it, then that was bound to happen; otherwise they will be granted a respite for seventy years. Whoever lives to see that time will see things he dislikes."
Imam al-Tabarani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated it mawquf (as the saying of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) himself), whereas Masruq, Abd al-Rahman bin Abdullah and al-Bara' bin Najiyah narrated it marfu' (as the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)).
