حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: «لَمْ يَأْمُرْنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَنْزِلَ ثَمَّ - يَعْنِي الْأَبْطَحَ - وَلَكِنْ أَنَا ضَرَبْتُ قُبَّتَهُ فَجَاءَ فَنَزَلَ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَكَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ يُحَدِّثُ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ لَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ: «اذْهَبُوا إِلَى هَذَا فَسَلُوهُ عَنْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not order me to camp there - that is, at al-Abtah - rather, I pitched his tent myself, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) came and stayed there."
Sufyan said: Amr bin Dinar used to narrate this hadith from Salih bin Kaysan. When that Salih came to us, Amr bin Dinar said to us: "Go to him and ask him about this hadith."
