حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ مَعْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " إِنَّ فِي النِّسَاءِ لَخَمْسُ آيَاتٍ مَا يَسُرُّنِي بِهِنَّ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا، وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ إِذَا مَرُّوا بِهَا يَعْرِفُونَهَا {إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ مَدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا} [النساء: ٣١] ، وَقَوْلُهُ: {إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ، وَإِنْ تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَاعِفْهَا، وَيُؤْتِ مِنْ لَدُنْهُ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا} [النساء: ٤٠] ، وَ {إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ، وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ} [النساء: ٤٨] ، {وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ جَاءُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللهَ تَوَّابًا رَحِيمًا} ، {وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللهَ يَجِدِ اللهَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا} [النساء: ١١٠] "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "In Surah al-Nisa there are five verses which I would not exchange even for the world and everything in it, and I know that when the scholars pass by them they recognise them: 'If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser misdeeds and admit you to a noble entrance' [Surah al-Nisa: 31]; and His saying: 'Indeed, Allah does not do injustice even the weight of an atom; and if it is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward' [Surah al-Nisa: 40]; and 'Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills' [Surah al-Nisa: 48]; 'And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you and asked forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful'; and 'Whoever does evil or wrongs himself and then seeks forgiveness of Allah will find Allah Forgiving and Merciful' [Surah al-Nisa: 110]."
