Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8925 — he came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud

It is narrated from Harithah bin Mudarrib (may Allah have mercy on him) that he came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: There is no enmity between me and any of the Arabs, and I passed by a mosque of Banu Hanifah and saw that they believe in Musaylimah. So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) sent (men) to them and they were brought. He asked all of them to repent except Ibn al-Nawwahah, and he said to him: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: If you were not an envoy, I would have struck off your neck. And today you are no longer an envoy." So he ordered Qarazah bin Ka'b, and he struck off his neck in the marketplace. Then he said: "Whoever wishes to see Ibn al-Nawwahah lying slain in the marketplace, let him look."
