حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: «ادْرَءُوا الْجَلْدَ وَالْقَتْلَ عَنْ عَبَّادِ اللهِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Avert the punishments of flogging and execution from the servants of Allah as far as you are able."
