Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8883 — When you are three on a journey, appoint

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: «إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَمِّرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدَكُمْ، وَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When you are three on a journey, appoint one of you as leader, and let two not converse privately to the exclusion of their (third) companion."
