Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8858 — Do not swear with the oath of Satan

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ، ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِحَلِفِ الشَّيْطَانِ أَنْ يَقُولَ أَحَدُكُمْ: وَعِزَّةِ اللهِ، وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا كَمَا قَالَ اللهُ: اللهُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّةِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not swear with the oath of Satan, that one of you should say: 'By the might of Allah,' but say as Allah has said: 'Allah, the Lord of might.'"
