حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يُقِلُّ الصِّيَامَ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: إِنَّكَ تُقِلُّ الصَّوْمَ، قَالَ: «إِنِّي إِذَا صُمْتُ ضَعُفْتُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَالصَّلَاةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الصِّيَامِ»
Abd al-Rahman bin Yazid said: Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) used to fast little. We said to him: "You fast little." He said: "When I fast, I become too weak to pray, and prayer is more beloved to me than fasting."
