Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8823 — Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَائِلٌ كُلَّ ذِي رَعِيَّةٍ فِيمَا اسْتَرْعَاهُ، أَقَامَ أَمْرَ اللهِ فِيهِمْ أَمْ أَضَاعَهُ؟ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لِيُسْأَلُ عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will question everyone whom He made responsible for a flock (of people) about those in his charge: did he establish the command of Allah among them, or did he neglect it? So much so that a man will even be questioned about the members of his household."
