حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، «كَانَ رُبَّمَا يَتَمَثَّلُ بِالْبَيْتِ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ مِمَّا كَانَ فِي وقائعِ الْعَرَبِ»
Qatadah said that Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) would sometimes cite as an example a line from the poetry composed about the battles of the Arabs.
