Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8719 — Whoever does a good deed to make people

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «مَنْ سَمَّعَ سَمَّعَ اللهُ بِهِ، وَمَنْ رَاءَى رَاءَى اللهُ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنْ تَخَشَّعَ لِلَّهِ تَوَاضُعًا رَفَعَهُ اللهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever does a good deed to make people hear of it, Allah will disgrace him on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever shows off, Allah will disgrace him on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever humbles himself for the sake of Allah out of humility, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection."
