Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8666 — Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud said: This Qur'an

It is narrated from Shaddad bin Ma'qil (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This Qur'an will surely be taken away from among you." (Shaddad said:) I said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, how will it be taken away when we have written it down in our Mushafs? He said: "It will be taken away in a single night, and nothing of it will remain, neither in the heart of any servant nor in any Mushaf, and the people will wake up in the morning destitute like cattle." Then Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "And if We willed, We could surely take away that which We have revealed to you; then you would not find for yourself concerning it any advocate against Us" [Surah al-Isra: 86].
