Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 8484 — The Prophet ﷺ ordered Ibn Mas'ud to climb

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُوسَى، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، يَقُولُ: أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ شَجَرَةً فَيَأْتِيَهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهَا، فَنَظَرَ أَصْحَابُهُ إِلَى حُمُوشَةِ سَاقَيْهِ فَضَحِكُوا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا يُضْحِكُكُمْ؟ لَرِجْلُ عَبْدِ اللهِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ أَثْقَلُ مِنْ أُحُدٍ»
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) to climb a tree and bring him something from it. His companions looked at the thinness of his shins and began to laugh, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What makes you laugh? The leg of Abdullah is heavier in the Scale than the mountain of Uhud."
