Ibrahim al-Nakha'i (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) and began talking with him at his home. Meanwhile the time of prayer came, and when the iqamah was called, Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) stepped back. Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "You know that it is the Sunnah for the master of the house to step forward (and lead the prayer)." But Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) refused, until a freed slave belonging to one of the two stepped forward to lead the prayer.
